How does Christ take part in the “curse?”

Genesis 3:14 “And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:”

Genesis 3:17 “And unto Adam he said, because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursedis the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;”

The serpent was cursed because he did something.  And the ground was also cursed because Adam did something.  The serpent is cursed because he beguiled.  The ground was cursed because Adam listened to and obeyed the voice of the woman, where the woman tells Adam to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

What does the tree of knowledge bring? It brings judging between right and wrong (knowledge of good and evil). The tree of knowledge tells us what is “right” and good to do, and what is also “wrong” to do, and the knowledge or way of thinking brings forth “the law”. See previous post on August 16, 2014 concerning the law.

Galatians 3:10-13 “For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursedis every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God,it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursedis every one that hangeth on a tree:”

The law (tree of knowledge) brings the curse.  While we live through the law, the curse of the tree is in effect. But Christ is party to that curse. He was there in the Garden of Eden and took part of that curse of the tree.  Being hung on that tree [of knowledge] he was cursed.  But remember [from previous posts] Christ is in us and is that part of us that is cursed and dies on the tree when we live under the law (tree of knowledge).

Phil 2:8 “And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”

Christ was and is in the man of the Garden of Eden, who is also in us.  And this man was obedient unto death, the death God warned him of caused by the eating of the tree of knowledge.   This obedience to death in Philippians 2:8 is the same obedience Adam had to the voice of the woman telling him to eat of the tree of knowledge. This is the death Christ goes through because he will not leave his bride and allow her to die without him because he is able to save her if he goes with her.  This is the curse he becomes for us by hanging on the tree [of knowledge of good and evil].  In being obedient to the death caused by the tree, he is able to die with the woman and stay with her as a dormant seed awaiting to be the redeeming force to save her.  If he refused the tree of knowledge, and was not obedient, she would have died, and been lost to the law forever, without her Christ with her and in her able to save her.  But Christ being separated from her is impossible anyhow because they are one flesh. See previous post on April 2, 2014. He had to eat and die and become a seed to save her. He was sown in corruption and raised in glory.  See below.

1Corinthians 15:42-47 ”So alsois the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adamwas made a quickening spirit. Howbeit thatwas not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first manis of the earth, earthy: the second manis the Lord from heaven.”

Christ is sown a natural body, and is raised a spiritual body.  Christ is sown in dishonor (the law or the curse) to be raised in glory.  The first Adam is a soul and the last Adam is a spirit.  There is a soul and there is a spirit.

Genesis 2:7 “And the LORD God formed manof the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”
