Continuing on in Romans 1, going deeper into the layers of meaning:

Verse 24 says that on account of our misunderstanding of the visible things discussed in the previous post, we do not honor ourselves as we should. It says here “between themselves” (KJV), which in the context of this verse, and being interpreted means “within themselves”. As a side note, traditional interpretations say this verse means amongst other bodies or persons. But we are not here to iterate the traditional interpretation, but to look at what the words themselves mean and not necessarily the “at first glance” or carnal interpretation. The “lusts” or questionable wants and “uncleanness” or wrong motives, spoken of here represents something we do within our own person, NOT with other people. The meaning of the word used in the KJV “between” can also mean “within” and should be used as “within” because this verse is talking about our own hearts and our own bodies and individual persons, NOT with another person. It is speaking of the interaction we have within our own minds. Verse 24, when looked at “spiritually” it is talking about how we dishonor our own selves within ourselves when we do not correctly understand the invisible things and how they work [in our lives]. Verse 25 says that when we misunderstand the truths of God (see previous post for more detail) we are following an untruth. So not only are we misunderstanding the truth, the truth is turned into a falsity. In doing this we honor and serve the thing created, “creature” or our physical self and motives, rather than serving the “Creator” or the things that create [us and the things in our lives]. Misunderstanding the invisible things of God and focusing on and serving what is here and made rather than what those things came from or ultimately come from (the invisible), causes us to not correctly understand and honor our own selves (verse 24) and what we are and represent. This implies there is an invisible component to each of us that should be reverend. Hebrews 11:3 says that the things that we see are not made from the things that appear. The things seen are made from the invisible things of the “Creator”. Verse 25 also implies that we should not serve the things created (creature) more than the invisible things that do the creating. There are layers to this understanding, and we get a glimpse of the invisible things that do the creating.

Does this give us a glimpse of the “Creator” or God?
