Romans 8:28, 31 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose. ... What shall we then say to these things? If God [be] for us, who [can be] against us?”

If one truly loves God and his way then it says nothing is bad in the end, but all things work together (even the supposed bad things) for good.  So there is nothing to fear when one loves God. But what does it mean to love God?

Luke 10:27, 29 “And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. ... But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who ...

Job 42:10 “And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.”

Job was going through hell, yet he still prayed for those who were antagonizing him.

So it says praying for those who seem to antagonize can release the captivity [or pain] of the one doing the praying.
