Genesis 3:24 “So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.”

There is “the way of the tree of life” and this way is kept by a sword that can turn every other (wrong) way back to the way of the tree of life.  The Bible speaks of a wrong way and a right way.

Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof [are] the ways of death.”

There is a “way” that is life and a “way” that is death.  And it says “the way” of the tree of life is a way to happiness;

Proverbs 3:13, 18 “Happy [is] the man [that] findeth wisdom, and the man [that] getteth understanding. ... She [is] a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy [is every one] that retaineth her.”

But;

Romans 3:11-12 “There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”

It says that no one really understands and all have therefore gone out of “the way”.  But remember it says there is a “sword” that can turn around every way back to help man keep on the way of the tree of life.  How does man know which way he is going, and why should he even care which way he follows?

Ephesians 6:17 “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:”

The Spirit has a sword and that sword is a word. Where that word that can be used to find wisdom and to get understanding. A word is something to be heard. But;

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

The word that turns man’s way back to the way of the tree of life must be powerful enough to cut through all of the other doctrines (words) that have lead man’s soul astray out of the way. It must be powerful enough to strip man’s soul of his spirit, the spirit of error.

1 John 4:6-7 “We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.”

It says that those that are born of God are those who love, and so they can actually hear the word of God that is love. Because the word of God is love, and the sword of the Spirit is love. And those who do not love will not hear because they do not possess the spirit of truth, and so they will not hear the sword of the Spirit that can turn them back to follow the way of the tree of life. But if they can hear the “sword of the Spirit” that is love, it will “divide asunder” the spirit of error from their soul and give their soul a new spirit of truth.

Isaiah 28:12 “To whom he said, This [is] the rest [wherewith] ye may cause the weary to rest; and this [is] the refreshing: yet they would not hear.”

Allow the sword to pierce through “the intents of the heart”  and hear Love.

1 Thessalonians 5:8 “But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.”

Only those that have a helmet of love and a shield of faith can hear the word and handle the sword of the Spirit. Because;

1 John 4:8 “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”

And;

1 John 4:18 “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”

So have no fear, put on your helmet, grab your shield, and be a warrior of Love with your sword held high!

See below for more on what love is. The word charity = love;

1 Corinthians 13:1-10 “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become [as] sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have [the gift of] prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed [the poor], and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Charity suffereth long, [and] is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth: but whether [there be] prophecies, they shall fail; whether [there be] tongues, they shall cease; whether [there be] knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.”
